Review of Phoebe Smith's Private Blog - Lynda Renham

Review of Phoebe Smith's Private Blog - Lynda Renham

Fashion conscious Phoebe Smith wants only one thing: a date for the works party in six weeks’ time.  She embarks on a journey to find her man and keeps a private blog of all her disastrous encounters. But when her four-year-old nephew gets into her account, Phoebe’s problems only just begin. With Tinder calamities, a male escort and a pork pie addiction, Phoebe tackles her biggest problem: the just too irritating Harry Bloom. Come with Phoebe on her search for the perfect man and see who will accompany her to the party in this hilarious romantic comedy novel.

Enter the world of Phoebe Smith ...
Hilarious events happen to poor Phoebe and her life is a disaster. If taken for what it is, a light romantic comedy, this book will have you laughing out loud, especially along with her disastrous Tinder dates. If you've ever been on internet dates, you'll understand exactly how she feels and cringe along with her. I've had some to rival Phoebes, but think she tops it with the date with the bouncer and the cycle shorts man! Harry, her lovely neighbour, is a great character along with her, a tad cliched, gay friends. If you like Bridget Jones and Confessions of a Shopaholic, you'll love Phoebe Smith.

Only just missed out on the five stars because of a few too obvious story plot links to Bridget Jones. I look forward to seeing Phoebe again with her own unique adventures, it would be a great sequel. Phoebe, however, does develop her own voice as the novel progresses so this can be easily overlooked. If you're missing your Bridget fix, this is the book for you! Having a blog is a refreshing change to the diary format of the novel, especially when disaster strikes with her blog. I found that part of the novel an addictive page turner. Talking about addictive, you'll finish the novel with a craving for pork pies! You'll want to head off down the shops soon after reading it. Phoebes ex is an idiot and you can't see why she wants him back, but think a lot of people can relate to a time in their lives when they've done the same and craved for a complete f*cktard (as Phoebe puts it!).

Light hearted enjoyable read.
